I like mine. Air tests in house have taught me a few things. Here are the best settings with my electrical interference. Settings gave accurate ID on quarter 8" min, 11" max

DE disc thresh -1 sens 99, thresh 0 sens 30 OK, thresh 1 sens 40 a little unstable. Accurate IDs on quarter 7 1/2"-9".

DE all metal w/elec noise, sens 40 thresh -9 to -7 was best. 8"-9" accurate IDs on Q.

SL disc thresh -9 to -3 was best, sens 50-99, -1 some instability at sens 20. 9"-10"

SL all metal thresh -9 to -6 sens 30-45, or sens 25 w/thresh -5 to -2, sens 10 with threshold -1, unstable threshold 0. Deepest mode! 11" accurate IDs on quarter.

Hope this helps! HH, George (MN)

THanks George it does help
I have found theta the THRESH has to be kept very low most of the time. I havent found many instances where I can get it above 0 for long.
What I do is start it at -7 and work the SENS up. Once I get stability, I then start working the THRESH a step at a time.

After that, I just trust!

I havent found any reall ydeep targets yet so, I cant report how well this works. Ill go back over a few areas and try the SL mode next.

Thanks again.

I got mine right as the weather slid into the cellar in Indiana.
I have had it out a few times in frozen fields with a shovel and I
can tell you a few things about it.
It is sooooo light and well balanced that almost any other detector
feels like you are carrying bricks. I haven't dug any super deep targets but
six or seven inches with super solid lock makes me think I will. I also like the
fact that it is like the energizer bunny on battery life. It just goes and goes
and goes.
I am one of those guys who isn't sure that there is a perfect detector, but
think you won't regret giving the F70 a whirl.

Don,
I got one and I like it. Everything you said is true - and more!

Well, I wouldn't drive nails with it but it seems fine.
I have been pretty happy with mine. I did put a stand on it
so I don't have to toss it on the ground while digging. I am
running a cover on the battery pod and a coil cover.
I think it is a pretty good blend of light weight and
quality materials. I would like to see a display cover for the
F70. I probably will take advantage of the idea of using clear
vinyl and making my own over the winter.

Can you tell me the weight of the F 70? I find that I prefer the lighter detectors. I have a White's XLT and it wears me out in a couple of hours. ::)

Hi guys,

It isn't just the weight, it is the balance. If I pick up any of my other detectors, one of which
I have swung by the hour, they seem like bricks. i really don't have much hunting time on my
F70, probably less than 25 hours, but have been impressed so far. I have even added a pvc
stand to mine and still think of it as super light.

HH, Don
