F75 & Large Coil Killin’ It!

On a farm that I’ve been pounding since October with sporadic finds, switching to a large coil has paid off. Ever get the feeling you have a 6th sense? While swinging through the vast open field I was thinking of how weird it was that I never dug a nickel on this property. Over the next hour I pulled the Buffalo and 1903 V Nickel, so weird. I followed with a crusty 1864 Indian and a 1917 Wheat. The 1908 Barber dime was the 1st piece of silver dug on this farm. The other saves included a suspender buckle, bent dandy button, tombac button, tack rivets, a container/box lid, a wooden ruler hinge, and what I believe could be an instrument button. The photo of what appears at first to be a broken nail head has me perplexed. I know I have dug several of these over the years but don’t know what it is or what it’s purpose was. It appears to be brass and doesn’t seem to broken off. Could be junk but I’m curious if someone else has seen these. Thanks for looking!

Those appear to be unused rivets for repairing harness leather, horse tack items, etc.
