Im fairly sure the first half reale is a fake. Im also pretty sure the 8 reale second coin is genuine.

I've handled and conserved hundreds of Cazador coins. Neither of the two that you posted throw up any red flags. What makes you think the 1782 is fake?

I never had any doubts until I went to have the 1782 set for a necklace , the jeweler said he was 100% sure it was fake and asked if I still wanted it set for a necklace for my girlfriend, he said one side was too thin and there was silver beyond the ridges , which he said made it a copy. I have no idea his experience with these coins and I know you guys know what your talking about.

You have to understand that things were not perfect with milled coinage. The 1782 is struck off-center which accounts for the silver outside of the dentils. It was fairly well-protected in a stack with only a partial edge exposed to the elements. Some not so well protected clumps will produce what we call "razors" when conserved due to saltwater corrosion.

Note: earlier date and smaller denomination examples can carry a higher premium than the standard 1783 8R Cazador examples.

Thanks so much for your evaluation. You have educated me well beyond what I expected.
