A friend of mine had this sword that he says has been handed down through his family for many years. He wants to find out more about it and what it may be worth.
This is what is refered to as a m1860 staff and field officer sword it was a private purchase sword not issued by the military although its a model 1860 its most likely a late 19th century sword. it is more ornate than most and in good shape very few of these are actually cw period
I collect lodge swords, that is Knights of Pythias, as indicated by the Calla Lilly, the U R stands for Uniform Rank, as seen on the clamshell counter guard. M.C. Lilley was defunct as of 1924
