There's a weather system pushing into the upper midwest that should, finally, usher in winter once and for all. I've counted my blessing for the extended hunting season this year, and the past few days have really panned out in terms of me trying to reach my 50 silver goal for the year. I hunted a property on the outskirts of a small town in a neighboring county and dug up a '44 merc, '46 rosie and and '80 indian head in prime shape. Yesterday I stuck closer to home and took a chance on a divider strip on an older road in a neighboring town. Amidst a ton of wheats and some unique tokens, I pulled up a '01 barber dime, a '52 rosie and a '35 Washington quarter. All total for the year I have 49 silvers; not quite reaching my goal but damn close.

With winter now bearing down, I need to hang up the detector for the year. I'll now concentrate my hunting efforts to coin rolling which I do in earnest during the cold months.

I want to thank all the moderators and founders of this site for the wonderful opportunity to post my findings and read about the treasures of others. This is a terrific web site and it's amazing the history being repatriated daily from the dirt for all to enjoy. Thanks again everyone and have a wonderful new year.:occasion18: See you all later!

Love that Philadelphia Founders Week badge... Nice hunt.

I'd take that "Philly" medal over silvers any day. Thats a great find.

Congrats on pulling all those silvers to close the year with a bang. How many silvers did you dig last season?

Hello Alchemist. Thanks a real nice way to end the year, great finds any time for that matter. Old tokens and silver on wheat...nice. Thanks for the post. HH C9

I would say about half of what I recovered this year.
