Steve and I returned to the Native American village site from my previous post after we received 1.4+ inches of rain at the site. Our finds from the last 2 hunts are shown in the pics.
In the video, you will see a Dalton point that Steve found in 2015 on the adjoining farm. The Paleo period Dalton point he found nearby indicates that our site may be older than the Archaic period (2,000-7,000 B.C.). We verified this when Steve found the Beaver Lake point dating 8,000-11,250 years old. As you can see in the video at the end, the weeds are really growing there but the field will be worked again soon. Enjoy the video, thanks for looking, & HH, Q.

Fantastic day! And getting more insight on a site is a big bonus. Do you share with your local archaologist?
I love artifact hunting. It's a very special feeling holding these in the hand after such a long time. :icon_thumleft:

Westfront, we don't have a local Archaeologist that I know of. Local universities have conducted digs at mounds in our area. Thanks for looking, Q.

Q & Steve, Congrats on finding more Paleo pieces of history. It's pretty cool to hold something in your hand that someone used 10,000 years ago! Thank you to Steve's Dad and all who served to give us our freedom.

Good hunt Quindy! Old site looks multi occupational. Good eye on spotting that graver. Most would walk right past it. The tools are a whole new game. Like seeing you explore early America! An honor to see the medals as I also have my Father's.

Richard, tobacco required turning every year until now. They are trying the "plugging" method that will be no till. It's rare to find plowed ground now and will be more so in the future. Unless you can locate a site that has not been turned in many years, the farmer will use no till-saves on diesel fuel & equipment wear. HH, Q.

I found a piece of flint in the back yard last week and thought about you and Steve finding all those great TN artifacts. Maybe I should get Charlie to plow the back yard? lol Great going on the finds! And Steve, I'm sure, is very proud of his Dad! The medals are amazing.

Looks like a flint scraper Nana. i know your house is on a hill over a water source so you may really be sitting on a village site. HH, Q.

Thanks to everyone who looked & replied. Enjoy my latest article in Western & Eastern Treasures Magazine about the Trio history and finds entitled "Memories and Milestones' in their July issue. Hopefully, the next video will be CW related. HH, Q.
