Hello All,
Had time to hit a couple of places today. Starting before sun up I hit the park where they hosted a local festival this weekend. Found $9.70 in clad plus one single dollar bill. (26 quarters, 30 dimes, 1 nickel, 19 pennies) Three other MD's showed up by the time I left. Most of the low hanging fruit had been picked by then. Found one large man's silver ring and one sterling heart pendant.
With about an hour to kill later, I went to a house where I have found about 8 silvers. Today did not disappoint, first signal was deep and about about 8 inches. Pulled out what I would later discover was my oldest coin to date. A 1891 IH.(Only my second IH) Also came across 2 Buffs and 1 War Nickel with 4 wheats to top it all off. One Buff was with the War Nickel so the signals were a little skewed.
What a day!!!
Thanks for looking,
Bunker

Hi Bunker,
I've gotten square nails out of the gold mining country here in California that could have been as old as your coin but then again they are just old nails. You on the other hand have a great OLD coin that you can show to people. People think I'm kinda odd when I show them a square nail.

Keep um comin and have fun. 63bkpkr

Congrats on breaking into the 1800s. Once you do it usually snowballs and you start finding 1800s stuff alot more often. I was even able to break into the 1700s and 1600s...trying for 1500s but that is a long shot in the US but not impossible.

I haven't found a Buffalo Nickel in quite awhile.
