Finally dug an "S" mint Mercury Dime today

Hello!

In the last 4 days I've dug 6 Mercury dimes ~ the first 5 were all "P" mints, but today I finally dug a 1943-S Merc. Not sure what the deal is with all the "P" mint Merc's lately ~ here in Oregon we usually find "D" or "S" mint coins.

I took pic's of it before and after I cleaned it. This is my silver coin #73 for the year.

Thanks for looking!
Neil

Thanks man!

Yeah, I was starting to wonder WHAT was happening! I dug a 1920, 1928, 1940, 1943, & a 1944 ~ all "P" mint! That's gotta be some sort of record for the west coast, right?! LOL

Nice score, Neil. I guess all of the people from back east lost all of those P mints in the northwest ::) You would think it would be the other way around

Yeah ~ that's one thing about the West coast, we get the "S" mint coins . . . . . but it sure is hard finding Seated coins, 2 cent pieces, shield nickels, large cents, etc.
