Hey folks,

There’s a private beach at a community my grandparents belong to I’ve tried hunting half a dozen times. Even though this community is over a hundred years old, I’ve never been able to find an old coin on the beach despite finding tons around the community.

I saw the beach was super eroded today, more than I’ve seen it eroded in the last couple years. The top layer of sand was gone and it was just rocks. I didn’t intend to hunt today but when I saw that I figured I better give it a shot.

I did a couple lines on the beach and didn’t find anything old. Then I started wandering and got a nickel signal an inch deep. I figured it was more beach slag but was really pumped to see it was a buff. It feels good to finally have found something old at this spot!

I kept on for a while and found a 41 Merc, 3 Wheats, an old lead soldier, and an interesting religious medal. I thought the medal was a walker at first. It rang out so sweet. A perfect 12.47 at 3 inches. It’s possible it’s silver but it’s not marked.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

It’s ugly but it still counts as silver...Buff and a Merc on Washington State beaches is a win in my book
