Finally Got A Boy Scout Ring

I was off of work last Thursday and Friday, so Smittyman and I spent some time treasure hunting. I was able to slip out over the weekend with the likes of Kurt Stuben and Todd Lipe. The following are the finds from the four days of hunting.

- Sterling Boy Scout Ring. My favorite find of the lot.
- 925 girls ring. Lawnmower got to it.
- Basket weave style junk ring. Man it looked awesome coming out of the ground, but alas...
- Marble.
- 1955 Hotpoint spinner token with hole drilled in it. Third from the same area, must have been Hotpoint salesman's house.
- Corbin Cabinet Lock plate. Unsure of exactly what this is... I think that it is a name plate, but it is cupped like a spoon bowl. Ideas?
- 1941 and 1943 Mercury dimes. I got a pic of one peeking out of a dirt clod... just a little silver sliver showing
- Token from local lumber company.
- Harmonium reed.
- 9 Wheaties.

YTD silver coins: 69.

I have been looking for that Scout ring for a while now. The other boys have them and I have been wanting to find one badly, so you know I was quite happy with the find. Thanks!

All I ever find are crappy little silver rings. Not complaining, well yeah I am sorta. I would just love to find one nice silver ring with some weight and design. Very nice BSA ring. I know that would put a smile on my face. Sad that you had to spank papa again. I wish he would retire that heavy anchor machine and learn the Deus.

i have been hunting a site where the scouts camp and have found a bunch of there stuff but no silver rings,
when did they have them. do they still have them,

That's a great ring! A silver ring is always nice but being a scouts ring adds the cool factor for sure. I don't often find anything related to the Boy Scouts as there was no group around here. HOWEVER, this post just reminded me--last week I was out and found a spill of scout buttons. I totally forgot until just now! Not trying to hijack your cool thread, but I'm adding a pic of my buttons that would go with your ring...

Those are really cool buttons. I hunt with Todd Lipe, he has a few of the rings, but I just couldn't find one. So when it appeared I was really excited. I also have the Girl Scout ring, but it's gold filled, or as I refer to it: JUNK!

The hunts were a lot of fun, three out of four yielded silver for me. Which is really good, considering that it is "me" we are talking about.

The BSA ring owner is in place where he no longer needs it.
