Finally got out Sunday...General Lee & this thingamajig?

The ground is still frozen but I got out Sunday to my favorite local park. It was a little chilly but still enjoyable and just nice to be out getting some fresh air. I hunted for about 2 hours and came up with the usual pull tabs, foil, a small amount of clad and these two items. First is the General Lee in not too bad shape (I cleaned it up for the camera). Second is an unknown about the same length as the toy car. First thing that came to mind was an injector??. It's got some copper, brass, base metal and what appears to be molded plastic. Anyone with a different idea?

Nice re the General - that was a cool car ...

Your thingamajig makes me think of the whatsit when you change a leaky faucet - the innards to the thing. I don't know that's what it is, but that's what it reminds me of.

A whatsit! I never thought of that. Thanks Nan.

Actually, I didn't even think my pics made it to the forum because I got an error message when I clicked the post button.

the whatzit is a ported vacuum switch, off of a 70's-80's engine, probably chevrolet

the holes are where the vacuum hose fittings broke off

Lucky you General Lee is a Dodge!

That could have caused you a few problems JG!

Neat finds!

Thanks for bringing back some good memories. The General Lee flying through the air and Daisy Duke's hot pants. [actually I was already thinking of Daisy Duke's hot pants before i read your post - haha]

Thanks for the ID on the thingamajig...although I have no idea what a ported vacuum switch is or does on a vehicle, it sounds reasonable to me.
