Finally in the 1800's

Finally made it! Went to the park found an 1883 Liberty nickel, 1916-s wheat, and 2 buttons. One button is an infantry the other is a cavalry button another first for me. I also found a buckle down deep has "H B & Co" And "Solid" on it I think it might be military because everything I find that deep is from the fort. Had a great morning detecting the sun was out 60 degrees. Life's good! Good Luck Everyone

Congrats TFehrn! My first 1800s was a V as well, 1888 (see avatar). It looked like yours until I used Goes4evers SOS pad method. HH -Tin Foil

I wish the state would let people hunt parks like that here.

I wish I was the only one there. I saw two other people there today and two others yesterday detecting. One guy pulled a gold ring out about fifty feet away from me. He showed me a picture of a $5 gold piece he found on Easter in the same park.

So there was a military fort on the same grounds?.. So in essence its an archaeological site and metal detecting is allowed... Couldn't imagine that happening here
