Today must be my lucky day. I had an odd hunch to go to a site that has given very little in the past, and I followed through with the hunch! I called up my friend and we decided to go out and try the field near a supposed 1800s cabin site. We hunted for an hour or so and found several old relics before unearthing this beauty. It is an 1802 large cent, DRAPED BUST! Thomas Jefferson was only in his first term of his presidency! I love it and it is currently my oldest US coin, second to my 1829 dime<banner>. It is holed, which is really cool! I am going back as soon as I can! Thanks for looking guys, this is what it is all about!! Whoohoo 210 years old!

--Hard to type, my fingers are still trembling(just dug it an hour ago!)

That makes two of yall that says the coin is a liberty cap. Why do you not think it is an 1802 draped bust? I want to see liberty cap but I cant do it!

It's not a liberty cap unless it's Thicker than a normal large cent. I think some are confusing the ribbon in Liberty's hair with a cap. Great find!
