Went out to my favorite field tonight. Have dug a lot of silver coins and Sterling pieces there. Also have found quite a few Arrowheads there also. Wasn't getting many high tones so I decided to start digging Indian penny signals. After about a half hour I got a signal that bounced from 15-17 on the nox but for the most part it was mostly reading 16 with a solid sound. After digging a plug a saw a small disc. Assuming it was a play token. After looking at it I thought it looks like silver. Then after looking at it more I could see the word NEW. With a 165 and the hole. Then I realized what I was looking at.. very exited about it. I know it's not in the greatest condition but I don't care..could some one help me with the NOE thanks in advance. Also got a Sterling baby spoon, a Sterling clover which I believe belongs to a stick pin, and a Roy Rogers badge IMG_20200327_211505.jpg IMG_20200327_211843.jpg IMG_20200327_211927.jpg

So I have a nox too. Usually, 15-17 is aluminum junk. I use Park 1 settings. I am curious what other setting you were using? Can you tell me more about your settings? I would probably not have dug that is what I am saying. So thanks in advance....

You make a fair point Cru , about their not being a correllation between "known" and actually out there ( or number minted for that matter )

Your question is the wrong question, your coming at it from the wrong angle. Tape over the VDI & trust your ears, plus you need to dig trash to find treasure, only then will your productivity improve. ie. number of better finds increase.
Dig more look at numbers less.

Yes, especially in good areas like yours.
Lost track of how many bits of foil I dug & the signal next to it, that I knew must be more foil turned out to be my best find.

Now, I understand that it's not possible to dig all in all situations, as some parks are very trashy. Where its worth it, it many take years to clear the trash, so in that scenario, I dig the better signals to begin with & then each return I get less & less fussy until I'm clearing tiny nails.

I'm pretty new to this but that's what I do as well... first time through I dig all the good ones and by the second or third time I am digging the targets in the 30's on the Ace 300. lol.

Congratulations on a once in a lifetime find. Keep digging all those mid tones and more goodies will follow (more trash too but if you find things like this it is worth the extra effort). My banner vote is in, keep swingin.
