Hi friends, wishing the best to all of you. I went to a comm sale, and bought these pieces. All from same seller. It's 24 grams. All have markings but only the yellow gold necklace has 585. Others have markings, but cannot determine kt type. I also bought this herringbone stamped Italy 14k, but not sure if it is. Will take to jeweler at mall to have it tested. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

The herringbone looks like junk/trash. Everything else looks good! Nice finds.

On ebay two weeks ago I bought four herringbone type chains. All are marked 925 or sterling. One even marked 925 Italy. I bought 15 lots from one seller, total about $180. Not worried because ebay loves buyers and if they are bad I get refund.

Well when I got them the italy was a fake. (a couple others were not silver either) The seller always throws in a few extra "just in case" I tested everything with my tri-electronics tester. Of course I contacted the seller first and explained I buy and always electronically test. She only goes to jewelry store and he looks and tells her 925 or NO. Well this jeweler probably had a lot of thing from her and was lazy.

She is sending what she says is two more ounces, measured on postal scale. After I get everything I will again test and enter in my spreadsheet to see profit or loss on the entire 15 lot order. (some lots had several pieces) I will update here when I get a chance.

10-6 update: Well I got two more ounces from her. 1/3 was costume. I am happy with the total of all 15 lots.
Here is the breakdown.

Total cost, including shipping and tax: $166.71 spot value $223.43 profit if I sell at spot: $56.72
total 314.2 grams 925 (& a little 800)

Everyone, don't forget to bring your magnet to the sales. A large amount of stamped junk will stick right to it!

Looks like you enjoy a good treasure hunt. You should invest in A gold test kit so that you can save time and not have to go to the mall.

Nice finds!
For less than $20 you can get a complete gold test kit with a strong magnet, acids and stone.
You will be able to test things yourself and will get a TON of education by knowing right away what you have.
You will start to understand color, weight, marks, and why some things "just don't / or do" look right.
Congratulations and best of luck to you
