managed a little detecting between deer hunting today. went to an old church site and cemetary circa 1860. found the coffin handle right away then worked into the woods where the old road was and found the ring up next to a tree about three inches deep so im not sure if its as old as the site.no carat marking, it just says SOLID GOLD inside the band. warm weather heading this way so I will go back. gotta be some old coins there. the church has been gone since the 1920s and its way back in the woods so chances are good its virgin territory.

Congrats on the ring, and a gold one at that!. Gold is one of my favorite things to find. I like finding a lot of different things, but I think I must have the gold fever :)

Congratulations on that ring. Gold is always awesome. I hope the solid gold marker means 24K gold and not some kind of marker that a particular maker used to use.
