Took a road trip to Vermont with ?yerdigginit ? Brian Yerdon and dug this 1789 George Washington era button research says it?s extremely rare. Over the moon with this find 3D21FD3F-5DE7-44C7-BCED-100BFCACB20F.jpeg !!!!

As others have mentioned, you got it all with that find - rarity, spetacular condition, and eye appeal. I'm sure it offers up a lot of motivation for learning all you can about that early patriotic button. Please follow up with any estimate of value, which I'm curious to hear. I know the snake and star buttons go for surprisingly more $$$ than I would have ever thought, though I don't sell my finds. Congrats on a beauty of a find.
