AlabamaDan, My buddy and I spent a day hunting the woods on his property in CT a few weeks ago. We were hunting along an old stone wall, when he gets a hit. He digs and pulls up a a handfull of old junk iron stuff, and low andd behold, we were onto an old dump, right by the stone wall. We ended up finding a tone of trash, everything from tractor parts to paint cans to old shoes, and low and behold four old bottles and two old fruit jars! Two were really nice milk bottles, another was an old medecine bottle, and one was a Welches juice bottle that we have determined to be from the 30s. None were worth a whole lot, but they made a nice beginning to my buddies MDing collection! I posted them here, the pics are not too good, but heres a link to that post: http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,9543.0.html

Thats one of the things I love about this hobby, you never know what you'll find at any given spot!

Check out the posts under "Bottles & Glass", lots of good info there!!

I have found a few bottles by picking up the remains of metal lids.
