Cool quarter. Looks like the silver is separating from the copper. I've never seen anything like that. Seems like it could have some value. I would love to have that specimen in my collection.

Your quarter is actually very rare indeed - under the precise ground conditions yours
was found it, the protoplasm of the nucleus divides by fission like an amoeba and
it was on the verge of DIVIDING. Had you left it in the ground, you would have
found TWO quarters, and eventually, a whole colony of them! Amazing, isn't it??

I think you can find some information on error coins in the Redbook. From what I remember it's either a pealing lamination or 2 quarter planchets stuck together during minting that are starting to come apart. Very cool find!

Different errors bring different prices!
