This is amazing, I was going through a junk drawer and noticed a few rings inside of a baggie so I pulled them out and dumped the bag. An immediate flashback, this is a bag of finds from about 5 years ago, and a 12-14K gold man?s wedding band, found on a small local beach. A lot of stress in those days, how could I forget my second gold find? Here?s the finds from 5 years ago:
Two necklaces and a key chain, the small locket is 925 silver

Two ankle bracelets, part of an earring, a small religious pendant and a 925 silver ring

Three silver rings, from left to right, 925, Sterling, 925

And my second gold find, a man?s 12-14K (585) wedding band. It has a name and date inside. I?m off for the holiday Monday so I?m going to go to the courthouse where the lake is and try to find the owner, won?t he be surprised!

This pile of change is from a 30 minute hunt on one army obstacle course Friday after work, the heat ran me off. $9.85 and no pennies and one almost silver quarter, gotta love it! HH, Mike

Those are nice finds. Makes me want to dig through some of my old finds. I know I don't have that much good stuff but I do remember a men's gold wedding ring.

Now where did I put all that stuff???

Beautiful finds, keep us updated on the owner of the wedding band.

"Almost silver". Gotta love it... I swear they must have minted extra 1965s just to mess with us!

Nice digs, keep up the great work.

All types of BFOs owned. Especially want White's Arrow; White's Oremaster; Exanimo Spartan Little Monster; Garrett contract Little Monster.
Yep they did make extra 1965s and 1966s and 1967s because of Gresham's Law. Whenever there is a choice between good money and bad money the bad money will be spent and the good money will be hoarded. Those of us alive then saw every dime, quarter and half being silver and just a couple months later all of it was crap except the 40% silver halfs and then they turned to crap too. Most of that hoarded silver was sold in the early 80s when silver topped out at $85 per ounce. Actually most of it sold at $10 then more at $20 and there was very little left in the hands of the public when it topped out and collapsed. The same thing finally happenned in 1968 and 1969 in Canada because our people collapsed their economy. Everyone within driving distance of Canada headed north and came back with canadian silver coins. still lots of them in US caches. exanimo, ss
