I ventured downtown today, into the more run down part of town. Hit a park that dates to the early 1900s. Found tons of trash, bottle tops, pull tabs, a few shell casings.... But managed a 1937 merc, and 2 wheats 38d and 41 plus almost $3 in clad. I will have to go back with my sniper coil! Thanks for looking, GL & HH. Glad you managed silver for your efforts....I've got some inner city parks in my area which are similar.

If you have the patience to thin out the junk there's keepers waiting to be found.

Regards + HH

Nice silver! Reminded me of a spot I hunt near a rundown area. While I was busy detecting a man was walking by on the street and yelling at me " HEY! That ain't your money! ..... That ain't your money!" I just shook my head, chuckled to myself and went about my business.

I went to my park yesterday. Didn't have a lot of time as a storm was rolling in but I managed to find a quarter.

Happy Hunting,

Yeah...I assume if someone decides to try and rob me, I've got a fighting chance with my midget shovel! Gonna have to look into a CCW or at least a GoPro to capture the action!!!

I've considered hitting a hood park near me. I think my safest choice would be to go very early, like 6:00 am... I can't imagine anyone has metal detected this park.
