Came across this piece at Antietam yesterday, just wondering if there's anyone out there that can I.D. part's of CW musket's.The square "hole" almost matche's up to the hammer I found in May of this year if not for the rust build up.The "cog" on this piece kinda make's sense for the trigger action.Any idea's would be helpful, can't find any exploded view's as of yet.Thank's and HH!!

Definitely looks like a sear to me. I have no idea for which model of weapon though.

Thank's dkw.....Appreciate the info, but I just googled "musket sear"and found out it might be a "tumbler",engage's and disengage's the trigger and hammer. It definetly is part of a late 1800's musket though.Thank's for the lead, learn something new everyday....You too Gypsy!!.....HH!!
