First of all Happy presidents day and second, this has been the best hunt so far! Me and my dad went out to a old dirt road(now a hiking trail) that was overgrown and hunted for 2 hours. After digging a few relics, I got a good "dime/penny" signal at 1in. Digging it up i realized it was a coin. Not knowing what it was I(and very stupidly rubbed the back :BangHead:). When i saw the "one dime" i knew it was a barber! i actually started shaking :laughing9:. then about 30min later i got another dime signal and in digging it up, i realized that it was a silver coin!! I did not rub this one :laughing9:!! when i got home i soaked them in water and found out the second coin was a merc. I cant tell the date on either one but i think the barber is a 1910(this is my oldest coin to date, prior to this my oldest coin was a 1937 wheat). Anyone know what the thing in the last pic is?? I know it goes to a car but what is it? I am very happy with what i found today!!! ;D :headbang:

My apologies, I see he is right. I actually pictured it like the old logger's saw file handles. Good ID. :notworthy:

great coins!
love the valve stem cover, I dug an old "Schrader" tire stem, to match your cover, it's much longer than the modern ones which are now generically called Schrader valves.
congrats & HH

Woo Hoo...Congrats and ATA-BOY on your first Barber!!! Looks like you have a fun spot to hunt!
Have you done any research on how to remove the buildup on your silver? I agree that silver is silver!
