First CS State Buckle (Alabama)

After 30 years of hunting I found my first state buckle.It's an Alabama map on tree egg shaped which I understand to be ultrarare in any condition.Sorry, no pics, but I'm taking it down to Lynchburg to show it to Dwayne at Lost & Found Relics and I'm sure he'll post some on his website!DBULL

Is this the one? Crouch's book read's: The rare and desirable "map on tree oval".This attractive lead filled buckle was made up in the pre-war period and few specimen's are known. Can't wait to see the the pic's.....Banner

Hey, what part of Alabama? I am from Gulf Shores but I left in 93. I wish I would have hunted more back then but I was too busy trying to get a date. I did hunt Spanish Fort a little bit. Found some CW bullets and what not .

After ruining an 1858 flying eagle I've learned not to clean anything.This buckle was rinsed with a garden hose and thats all the cleaning I'm doing!It is as dug.DBULL
