I've been reading these posts for awhile and hadn't tried coin roll hunting before and since it was raining here in cent Va., I decided to stop by the bank during my lunch hour. They had $100.00 in halves that I purchased. Found 3-1967s and one 1968 and several bi-cent, (1776-1976). Based on what I've been reading, I think this could be considered a good find. Is it? Also what kind of value do the 40%Er's have in general and do the bi-cent. halves have any extra value?

The bicentennials are so common that they realy dont have extra value over face. The 40% are generally going for about $1.25 at the coin shops.

Try this web site to see the metal value of US coins. As of july 12 the 40% halves were $1.70.

As Rick said most bi-cent's are to common to save but keep your eyes out for the "S" mint. They are proofs and some of them are silver.

Good luck hunting.
