I hunted an old elementary school today and dug up my 1st 2000 Sacagawea Golden Dollar. It's not worth anything but it was a first for me. For a few seconds I thought I had really found something.

I actually have a good feeling about this spot because it's a really old school that hasn't been hunted much to my knowledge. I managed to dig up a 1963 Lincoln, a 1965 Rosie and a 1965 Washington (and a few bucks in modern clad+ a 1978 Canadian Quarter), which leads me to believe that there just may be some silver to be found. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I'll probably go back and hit it again.

If it hadn't gotten dark I would still be there because I was really into hunting today. The days are getting shorter and shorter. Not a good thing for the MD'ing addiction.

BTW, my son is supposed to hook me up with some pic posting some time next week. I'll probably do a mass photo shoot of all the stuff I've been posting about.

Well done. I have found 3 dollar coins out of 300 clad coins, so finding any dollar is an accomplishment. I actually found a dollar coin last night!

I actually didn't know that there were any US $1 coins until I found one on vacation in Carlsbad this past spring break. We've got loonies ($1) and toonies ($2) up here and pennies are no longer used. Still find a lot of pennies since now that people can't use them, kids just throw them everywhere.

Nice find. I have found over 6800 clad coins on 2 1/2 years and only 7 were dollar coins.
