Found my first "V" Nickel today at an 1820 home. 1893 I think. Problem is, it's kinda crusty. What is the best way to clean it? Not worried about devaluing it, it will go in my collection.

Congrats on your first V Nickel !

The best way that we've found to clean Nickels is with Very Fine Steel Wool - and it usually takes a lot of rubbing !
If you clean any Clad / Copper Core ( V Nickels are 75% Copper ) coins using Electrolysis - the coin will turn Orange - forever.

Nice going on the V Nickel.
Wondering if a little soak in hydrogen peroxide would bring up the details.
I've had some great results, and not so great results over the years.

Congrats for knocking that one off the bucket list! Cleaning nickels is tough but I've see some interesting videos on YouTube, although I've never tried them- GL!.
