I got to hunt a new site this past weekend. I was fortunate to find some excellent pieces and I need some help identifying them. The largest piece measures 4 inches in length. I don't know if it is a spearhead or just a large point. I found a total of 30 pieces, broke and whole, in 4 hours of hunting.

Looks like you had an awesome outing! :icon_thumleft: That first one looks like a paleo heartbreaker. And the one in the third to last photo is a dandy.

Thanks Digger. I found several like the first one, all broke of course, but I had a ball finding them.

Looks like you are on a great spot.Maybe the big one is an adze or an adena blade? Good looking material I like the serrations. You have a good new spot. I would be pumped up!

i'd be going back there soon

real nice hunt

I am planning on being there this weekend. The good thing is I have only covered about half of the area. Hoping to find alot more before the dozer gets there. Area being cleared for crop land.

Could be reworked but it looks more like an old break. Broke or reworked that tip doesn't take away from the piece one bit for me. I was thrilled to hold all of them in my hand, knowing that I was the first person to hold them in hundreds of years. What a feeling!!!

That is a sweet piece! I have to ask did you find that one in a different part than the rest? I ask because of the wavy flaking on the sides. Most of mine with that type of flaking are Early Archaic or older.

I found it in the same area as the others. I find it kinda strange that there are so many different types in one place. It is about 100 yards from a river. I am sure there are others there. I have found many of the square knives, all broken. Got a feeling there is a whole one there somewhere. Gonna keep looking.

If the area is going to be destroyed soon I would wanna be there 24/7 with those kinds of finds. I have a great place like this and have never found the quality or quantity that you did in one day! Great finds thanks for sharing .
