Hi All,
Finally got out to do some hunting today! It's been too long!
I got permission to hunt an old house site (late 1700s-early 1800s or so) and got a chance to start today. The house still stands, and the yard isn't overly huge, but it looks like it will still take many, many visits to really explore it well. Spent a short time today, and found a few things to get me going. No silver, but I'm sure it's there. The owner has told me that I can hunt the cellar/foundation area inside, too. Might be interesting!
Here is what I came home with...
The dime is from '68 and the penny is a 1980. The other penny is ??, but it is a memorial. The little seal is interesting, as is the key that isn't broken. Just kind of an "S" shape, with no teeth. Anyone know what these were used on? The block with the "m" on it is a printer's block for offset printing. There was recently a print shop here.
I'm sure there is a lot more to come from this site. Wish me luck!
