Hi everyone...new to the forums. Today my cousin and I headed out with my brand new Fisher F2 and did some hunting on a late 1800's barn. Aside from it being in the 20's outside, we suited up and braced the elements! Still learning to use my detector... but what better way than to play with it? 8)

Found:

- various bits of old farm tools/equipment
- 2 clad pennies
- vintage faygo cola bottle cap
- this sweet spoon that I feel may be old and made up of some silver!!! ;D

Glad to join a great community and can't wait to see all your great finds and share mine with everyone in the future!

Thanks for the kind words everyone...and yeah there is plenty of potential in my area that I am aware of.

Here's some sites I have on my agenda:

- A hillside where a colonial fort was located (I've heard stories about my step fathers dad using a old Whites coinmaster and finding sweet stuff back in the day @ this one)
- An old stone foundation in the woods that is covered by lots of foliage and ferns....this baby's OLD
- An old dilapidated homestead on my step fathers property....I know exactly where it stands from a 1950 photograph!!!!
- My sister's fix-er-upper house she just bought last year (built circa 1920ish)
- A coal mining patch house built in circa 1910 era owned by my step father
- An abandoned home that I'm not sure of the date of construction (i'm thinking early 1900's maybe based upon the foundation)
- My great grandmother's house (which was built by her in law's kin...we're talking mid 1800's construction) which is now owned by my uncle
- An old company store that is now used for apartments. It was active as a business up until the 1950s
- A one room school house that is at the foot of the Allegheny mountains and is now privately owned....I need to introduce my self to the current owner and hopefully get permission to hunt.

Needless to say ....I'm stoked 8)
