First Hunt Of 2018

Quick surface hunt in the high grass before the next storm . The crystal Gunther was laying on a gopher mound sun bathing and a group shot of todays finds. The last photo is from the Northern Side Notched Cluster early archaic ca. 6000to 5000 B.C. All finds from private property N. California.

Great finds ! That crystal quartz is just unreal .... I always check the area around groundhog holes but haven’t had any luck yet. Think I would be digging some holes of my own after seeing that

Thanks the creeks are starting to flow had one of my sons friends over yesterday he found a few pickers.

Absolutely beautiful points and really cool to find one on a gopher mound, nice of them to do some of the work for you There are groundhog holes that open up in the banks of my creek in 3 different areas that have been my biggest producers and I've sort of thought that is the reason I find so much there.

This area has a lot of different materials large outcrops of cherts but I think crystal put a little magic / good luck in the hunt. The camps I hunt all have crystal points seems to be a sierra foothills favorite.
