Got out yesterday for a short hunt in Savannah with the ORX and had a great day. The site is littered with iron so I used the coin fast program with Freq 26.6kHz and Reactivity 3. The set up feels the same as with the XP Deus with Iron Vol set to 1 or 2 and the Audio Resp set to 3 or 4. Dug a nice old Catholic pendant, old silver thimble, small Navy cuff button, general service eagle, and a nice 1859 IHP laurel wreath without shield.

Nice hunt!! Is the build the same as deus or is it flimsy? A buddy of mine bought one and he said the build seems a little cheap..
Thanks

Fantastic hunt! That info you posted is great. So the iron volume sounds lower than the volume of the non ferrous tones? Does it have any modulation? I usually had my deus Det to iron volume 1-2 and audio volume set at 3-4.. rarely ever changed those settings.. thanks for the report.

Yes, the sounds are modulated. So shallow targets sound different that deep targets and small targets sound different than large. Its really the same as the Deus.

Awesome thank you for posting that. How was the separation? Or was most targets by themselves?

It felt like the same separation as the Deus with the same frequency and reactivity. I think that the coil is what is creating the separation. The stuff that I dug was encrusted in iron.

First of all, nice finds as usual. You have great sites and that makes a lot of difference no matter what you are swinging.

Glad to hear that even though you can't adjust iron volume/level and audio response, they appear to be set up at or near the Deus defaults for Deus Fast and Deus Deep preset programs (i.e., Audio Response default is 4 and Iron volume default is 3 for both of those Deus preset programs).

I was concerned that there was no audio response modulation setting based on how much Gary seemed to be struggling with target recovery in his video. He really seemed to have no sense of the likely depth of the target before digging.

The only question mark for me is how ORX is handling silencer behind the scenes. Is it defaulted to off (as it is in Deus Fast and Deus Deep) or is it floating with reactivity setting like Basic or Dry Beach). It appears to be likely turned off if ORX is using the Deus Fast and Deus Deep preset program defaults. That would be good.

Are you still noticing a difference in depth performance between Fast and Deep at the same user settings?

THIS JUST IN.............

A building under construction collapsed into the ground in Savannah Georgia today. Investigators indicated that the ground below the building was like Swiss cheese after what they believe was intense metal detecting by an unknown individual. Any information about the identity of this person should be reported to the Savannah Police Department.

Sorry Bharp but I gotta turn you in. It’s the only way I can get you to stop.

Nice assortment of finds. That would be a good hunt anywhere. Quick question for you, does the remote on the orx have a plug in for headphones?

I still have to test the Coin Deep. It is a little overwelming on a site littered with iron. Coin Fast is performing very similarly to Deus Fast, could be some differences in the programming though. Today I used the Elliptical Coil with the ORX at Frequency 14.4kHZ (which is usually a little chatty) and it was very quiet and well behaved. Had a great day. Will post finds when I clean them.
