I've been out a couple more times this year but only at one site which I've pounded hard since June of 2014. The pickin's are really slim at this point after pounding it so many times but I have found a few more things.

I got one of those faint, deep hits and found my first IH of the year; an 1886 in adequate condition. In my soil, any copper that has a readable date is a good one and any Indian is a good find as well....

I also found another pretty cool old silver plated religious medal with an angel wing border. I have no clue how old but it was down a good ways and has a little green goin' on so I'm assuming it's been down there for quite a while. I'm building a nice little collection of these medals.....

Then there was this brass piece. It think it was a lion head originally but it's kinda' messed up. It screamed like a smashed aluminum can but I dug it anyway.....

And then there were a few Wheaties and a 1940 nickel. The wheaties are 1911, 1912, 1920 & 1942.....

I also found an old tag for a female dog from Baltimore County dated 1918. I posted another thread about this find but it was from the same two hunts so I figured I might as well throw it in the mix....

That's about it. Not the world's greatest hunts but I had a great time anyway. It feels so good to get out there again. The way I see it I'm just gettin' warmed up and every hunt is not only practice; but another learning experience. No hunt is ever wasted.

This site has been awesome except for one thing. I'm just flabbergasted that only one silver coin has ever appeared at this spot after at least 50 hunts (maybe more). I've dug MANY old targets and literally hundreds of pre 1965 coins from here yet so far, only one 1957 Rosie. From day one I just KNEW there had to be lots of silver in this field but so far they just haven't appeared.

I intend to upgrade to a better machine very soon and I'm hoping that there is some silver there that my machine just isn't seeing. Then again, I'm digging plenty of deep copper, brass and silver jewelry; just not silver coins. Go figure. Maybe they're just not there. Maybe someone beat me to the punch decades ago; who knows??

Thanks for looking and HH......
