First Merc CRHing

Picked up two boxes of dimes on a lark today. First was skunk. Second produced 1953 Rosey and my fist Merc. A 1937 in decent shape.

Now if I could get some boxes of halves to produce. Only finds I've had recently have been from CWRs and teller trays... And not too many of those.

Nice find Its always nice to find a Mercury. I once found 18 in a $500 box

Nice! I just found my first Merc last Tuesday and it only took 2 years of crh'ing. ( I don't do many dimes...)

There's nothing in my book like finding a Mercury. My first one (actually 49 total) came from a single roll last year. It was an ender on an ancient-looking roll. I was so excited I took pics and then proceeded to unwrap the other end of the roll and there was another Merc. I dumped the roll onto the kitchen counter and OMG there were Mercury dimes everywhere. After looking through the pile I noticed one lone silver Rosie kept me from a solid roll of Mercs.

And then I waited until last Saturday to find my 50th Merc in a roll. They aren't too easy to come by and I treasure the ones I do find. It was just pure luck to find that solid silver dime roll for me.

congrats on the Merc, SJ. I found my first Merc (a '45) of 2012 on Tues and it sure was a nice surprise. Mine's in decent shape also (probably grades F) which makes it even a little nicer to find.

Good luck on the halves - it's still out there.

Yeah, that is the problem here, the dimes go into machines.

I was blowing through $450 trips on dimes twice a day for a week at two banks. I ran them down quick lol.

One day I found 14 dimes.

12-27 : 100 rolls - 4 Rosies
12-28 : 109 rolls - 0
12-29 : 72 rolls - 2 Rosie 1 Merc
12-30 : 138 rolls - 3 rosie 1 Merc
1-3 : 273 rolls - 13 rosie 1 merc
1-4 : 200 rolls - 3 rosie
1-5 : 100 rolls - 2 rosie
1-6 : 33 rolls - 1 rosie
1-7 : 59 rolls - 0

I think I came across someones dumped collections.
