Well it happened. I finally broke out of the clad fad!

My girlfriend’s house was originally built in 1907 and housed some pretty important people in the town over the years. I think there’s gotta be more out there but my AT Pro is giving me lots of low iron tones with hardly any high tones :/

Still came away with a 1940 D and 1953 S wheat penny, along with $1.86 in clad. Lots more to find- I’m coming for you, silver! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1564445662.723510.jpg

Slow down over the iron and listen good for a high tone in there. Turn and go at it from another angle. AT Pro will pick it out. Dig all the iffy signals.

Way to go man. If you got that on a first pass I think there’s bound to be more stuff there. I lived in a 1908 house a couple years back with a modest sized yard and got 3 silver dimes, a silver ring, 20+ Wheats and an 1880s Hong Kong coin. They don’t all turn out like that but sometimes they do! My first (quick) hunt there only turned up a single wheat to get excited about.

Smallfoot and Washingtonian are both correct. Silver on old sites, for all intents and purposes is not plentiful, except on great occasion. My neighbor's house was built in the 1890's. I found probably 50 wheat cents and only one 1944 dime.

Once you nail a few silvers (or whatever your desired target may be) you will learn a little more on each. Dig it all though, you'll find some other cool stuff along the way. Have fun and good luck (that always helps too!)!

Congrats on the Wheats, now hit that yard from a different direction. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you missed from the first time.
