Or should I say SC.

First I should say never in a million years would I ever have dreamed of digging a Confederate plate. I started of today thinking I would only dig of a hour or two due to the fact it was supposed to rain. With this in mind I decided to hit a home site that has been productive in the past just hoping to dig a few bullets. Well boy was I wrong. I borrowed my partners 8inch head for my e-trac and headed out. When I got to the site I started swinging real slow in a area full of trash that I have dug before. Well I got the dropped 3 ringer then the dropped gardner. So Im thinking not bad. About 30 mins goes by and I get a real broken tone but still good enough to dig. And out pops this baby. I didn't clean it at first and just figured it was another US belt plate. As this is the 4th plate I have dug from this site and all the prior ones have been Union. Well I dig for about 2 more hours and get the J hook, Friction primer and a ton of wheat pennies with some nickels. Flash Forward, I stop by the shop near my house to pick up a case for my newly found plate(still dirty). And I can't stand it its got to be cleaned. So me and the shop owner toothpick it out just enough to see the S followed by a glorious C. And the rest is history.

Its a medium size SC oval belt plate. I know its in rough condition but these things just dont come out the ground much any more and to me its awesome just the way it is. I will post a few more pictures as I clean it. I want to take my time as its very fragile.

Thanks for looking and letting me share one of my best days
