This spring we plowed up a new garden on our small acreage. After I rototilled today my 10 YO daughter was helping me pick some of the many stones we have in this area. Here is her (broken) find. Any help id'ing would be excellent. How do we tell if the tip was broken recently or long ago? This is a first ever point find for our family....I've been searching for years! :)

If you will look at the end that is broke and it looks like a fresh break it is and the rest of it may be there some where. If it looks like its an old break it is. Great find sorry I dont know what kind but a great find...d2

Congrat's, on your first find, if the broken part
is a fresh break, you can see the difference in the flint, it
will not have the (patina) of the rest of the point, that takes
years to build up.

Keep on looking, Fossis..........

Looks to me like it has the start of a bevel, type is hard to say, but more than likely it's archaic. Hope this helps and keep looking in that garden.
