It's copper, but is real and is old! Nice one!

Did you find anything old at all? I am sold on that being real by the looks of it, and because it's not a silver reproduction, but when things are found with all modern targets I always have to ask myself again.

...but it does look good to me and i have seen lots and had many in my hands. I'd place a good bet on real, any takers? ;D

PS.. Most likely 1600s.

That Spanish coin looks real and looks to be in good condition considering the sand, congrats on the find! Where there is one there may be several more including silver and gold. You may already know but, you should check out the beach comber forums, there really is a science to beach detecting. Storms can be your friend, sometimes they bring in more sand and sometimes they strip the sand away and make some deep cuts along the coast line. HH and I look forward to hearing if you find anymore of those old Spanish coins, Mike

I would say it is real. The repros are all similar in design, and this one is not a common variety.

Nice!!!
