The star note is from a common run of notes so won't be worth much over face, if anything. Circulated radars usually sell for between $3 and $8.

thank you. Do you know what a $20 star note would sell for, 2004 GB00002920?? A guy on here said it would be worth anywhere from $85 to $135, before you even factor the low number in. Any idea?? I want to put it on ebay, but I want to make sure it goes for the right price. I saw a similar note on ebay going for $195. It was also a 2004 $20, the serial on that was EF 00003784.

Your GB00002920* note is not a 2004 series, it's a 2004A series. No way it would/should sell for the range quoted above, unless it is in uncirculated condition and you really find yourself a buyer who just can't say no to your price. I sold one a month ago or so and it ended at like $21 (circulated). I took a few dollars hit on that one.

And you can't compare your GB000-* note to an EF-* $20 note. Apples and oranges, so to speak.

The GB-* $20s were printed in two runs, the first being a short 320,000 note run (serials GB00000001* through GB0032000*..in which your note lies)...and then a second, longer run of 2.56 million (serials GB03200001* through GB05760000*). So there were a total of 2.88 million GB-* $20 notes printed.

The EF-* $20s on the other hand, only had one run of 320,000 notes, from serials EF00000001* through EF00320000*.

When the EF-* $20s had just come out, I came across a few and ended up selling them for a LOT of money. Like in the range you quoted. But even now, they don't sell for much. Send me the link of the Ebay auction for an EF-* going for $195. I doubt there are any bids on it, and I don't think there will be.

I'm dumb, but what is a radar note? I have star notes, but no book on them. Thanks.

Radar note = a note whose serial number reads the same forward and backward. Does not have to include the letters to qualify, but when the letters match on a $1, $2 or old style $5 and up, it will add to its value.

The guy who told me it was worth 85 dollars said he looked it up from the red book... If a low very serial star note isn't worth anything then what is??

If you want to see the listing on ebay for that EF star note, try typing in 2004 $20 star note, it is a buy it now price.

I see the note. But, when you type in '2004 $20 star note' like you suggested, you will see other EF-* $20s at starting prices below $30...and with no bids. Your GB-* $20 could very well have sold for $85 or so, but back in 2007 when they had just been printed and not very many of them had actually been released or pulled from circulation. Plus the currency books have (IMO) heavily inflated prices on a lot of things. In the end it is your note, and do what you feel you want to do. If you sell it, post a link because I'd like to see you get a good price for it.

I hear you. Like I said if you decide to sell and post it on Ebay then I would be interested in seeing how much you get for it.
