This past season I've dug Mercs and Barbers and even one seated Liberty dime but this is my first Rosie!.I know its just a Rosie but seeing that silver in the dirt after not being able to swing the past couple weeks due to snow cover and freezing temps really made my day.
The temps broke in to the upper 40's here in eastern Ohio today, just enough to wipe out the inch or so of snow on the ground and give me a chance to swing a little. The woods are full of deer hunters this week so if i get the chance to go again I'll be sticking to house sites along the road  HH Jerry

Congrats on your first one!
Hey do you know what the white disc & metal thing next to it is? It looks a lot like something I found a few weeks ago. They were in the same hole. An old canning jar lid maybe?
Thanks! Boyds canning jar lid.The writing on mine says "Boyd's genuine porcelain lined cap. Very common at 1800's homesites.

Thanks Merf,it's a piece of an old bb gun i believe. These finds are from my mom's hard hit 1800's homesite. The jeep doesn't look familiar to me but either my brother or I must have played a little rough with it ;D

Congrats on your first Rosie!
Something about that little piece of silver in a hole, doesn't even matter how old it is in that moment!

Glad to hear you are still getting out. We have about a foot of that white stuff on the ground now, with a prediction of 18 inches more in the next three days. (And my new procoil got here right after the last storm).

Best of Luck!

Mark

Thanks Mark, man i bet you're hoping for a "January thaw" to give that new coil a try eh? I know that soon I'll have to hang up the dfx for the winter, kick back and do some research while checking out the southern guy's finds on the forum but .....the withdrawl symptoms are brutal :tongue3:

Congrats on the first, Jerry!!

Seems like sometimes the hardest coins to find are the newer silvers...

Too bad about the jeep. I'll bet it was a great toy in its day! ;D

Spent about three hours detecting, nada. Go to the bank to deposit $$, see a silver Rosie in the teller's till. The irony. Congrates!
