Well, I finally got my first silver coin for the year! I went out to a vacant lot that is part of a local school where I had suspected an old house once sat. I suspected it because I've detected this lot once before and came up with pieces of an old toy car. First good target was the '59 wheatie, which tells me I'm in the right place. About a half hour later I circled back to the spot where I found the wheatie and got a quarter signal on the Safari. Only two inches down was a nice '37 Washington quarter! About a foot away was the '48 nickel, and this suggested to me that I probably happened upon a small pocket spill.

HH,

Ray

Thanks Bob & Van!

Van, I was south of you a couple hours but I what I used to do was what I always do: hit the old parking strips, old parks, vacant lots where old houses once stood, old school yards, got permission to detect around barns and old houses, etc. Don't let anyone tell you silver is hard to come by in Washington...there's still lots of it to be found up there!

Congrats on the silver! I'm still waiting for snow to melt. Oh, and they didn't make wheats in 1959 :P
