First silver, wheaties and buttons with ACE 250. Need help w/button ID

Finally got photobucket figured out. Thanks for the help. Got permission to hunt early 1900's home near my home. Me and my son, Jason found a silver quarter on second dig. Being new to this, we were excited. Not long into the hunt we hit multiple signals. After digging for 30 minutes, 10 Wheaties, 3 mercs ( 1944, 1941, 1924 and a silver Roosevelt(1954 ). If you ever have found a pocket spill, you know the feeling. The oldest Wheaties was 1927 and the newest 1947. The button with the hunter I believe came off a shooting vest. The military button has no markings on the back. I have no idea. I have 2 other hunts to post but have to leave for Texas in the morning. I'll have to catch up later.

Great hunt Jar and a beautiful pic of that hunting site!

WIth the oldest Wheatie being from '47, there's probably
some really good stuff left for you & Jason to find

Just take your time, enjoy the surroundings AND the company of your son

Take care,

Looks like a fun place to hunt that is producing :) Excellent!

The anchor button is certainly NOT military... with no back it'll be hard to date. Looks like a 1920s through 1940s fashion button, but I am guessing.

I tried to google the "hunter dog button" but kept finding crap about Dog the Bounty Hunter! LOL That button is certainly awesome...

Re: First silver, wheaties and buttons with ACE 250. Need help w/button ID

Thanks for the replies. I am getting the hang of the ace and the sounds. But I am still digging those iffy signals. There still is allot to hunt there but overgrown with weeds and a lot of metal. The original barn burned down in the late 40's and a new one constructed. The guy was a big boozer who liked whiskey. My father knows where he dumped the bottles. I will attack that in the fall. As far as the shooting button, When I first saw that button I thought, silver again! I'm guessing that it was from some kind of hunting attire since the guy who lived there was a avid hunter. I have 2 more hunts to post but have to run. I have a new camera, an old computer and a new laptop. The old computer cannot handle the camera downloads for some reason. So I have to do some extra work when it shouldn't be that hard. Wife uses the lap top allot. So, to be continued..

Hey, those are some great coins! Thanks for including a pic of the site. I wonder what the inside looks like. The ouside looks interesting - I like that front porch.

Congrats on the great hunt. I'm glad your son has an interest!

I'd like to buy the place. It's just going down hill. My father says that at one time that place was a "showcase" It sits on a few acres with apple tree's and a nice barn. I peeked inside the other day and the barn is in real good shape. The house needs some work. Her son was working on it earlier this year and I think he lost interest or ran out of money. It was built in the early 1900's. I'm afraid whats going to happen to it as the town is very small (less than 1000 and the history is being lost. Most of the original homes survive.

I agree with Jim on the Anchor button. ie its most likely Civilian fashion type. Date :icon_scratch: maybe late 1890s ???

Jar, I would also check the property for a dumpsite. Lots of these were located in gullies close to the house. There should be some old bottles there and maybe a few bonus relics. Great finds otherwise

I already know where it is. My father, 73 used to dump the guys trash because they were neighbors. My dad says there are alot of bottles back behind th fence row. I will hit it before winter. Too much poison ivy and critters.
