I found my 1st SLQ last month. It was a bucket list find for me. The SLQ has to be one of the best designs for a coin ever. Congrats ! I took me a lot more silver quarters to find my 1st SLQ so nice work !!

Thanks. I sure wish there was a date on it, though. I guess you just can't have it all, right? :occasion14:

A standing liberty on your second-ever silver quarter? That is fantastic, because SLQs are quite elusive coins to find. Keep hunting that site and you might come up with some more nice finds.

Nice find, here is a link to help you narrow it down to a smaller date range.

It's always my worst fear I'll end up digging a no date piece of awesomeness. About six weeks ago I dug my first SLQ, no date. Fortunately, I guess, I was able to date it. I thought I had a '16 because there were no stars under the eagle, but after posting it the experts steered me right that it was a '17 because they could still make out a mint mark. Beautiful coin, mine was much more worn and I still couldn't be happier that I finally found one :)

Nice.
Don't worry about the condition. It's silver, it's old and you've just doubled your silver quarter find tally. That may not happen again (but hopefully it will).

Also, when they're worn, it's a great reminder as to just how long that coin has been sitting there, patiently waiting decade after decade for YOU to find it. It was meant to be that way and today, you dug it out of the darkness.

That's what I always think about when old coins appear. I also think about who lost it, if they missed it, etc.

That's a great find and a great hunt any way you slice it.

I found a standing liberty once, but it was bootleg - made of lead.
Apparently it wasn't uncommon for people to make bootleg coins (slugs) back then to rip off the payphones.
