Had time for a short hunt after work this evening. Didn't find much, but I'll be going back. The thimble has the word GERMANY on it. Couple of brass I think grommets. A American Eagle 20 gauge shotgun brass, dates around 1922. 1952 nickel. Maybe I'll do better next go.

I've only found one thimble and mine was smooshed too. I've been trying to think of a good way to try to straighten it out.

You would have to heat it and push it down onto a thimble shaped object. It can fit perfect in a display case flat, so maybe just leave it be?

Nice finds RJ.
