I'm trying to restore an old Keene 3 inch dredge and to tell the truth I am too cheep to buy a nozzel.
From the archives so far it looks like a suction nozzel is better than a jet for moving water in shallow streams
so that is the way I wish to start.
From the little I've read so far the jet is stepped down where it enters the nozzel. From say 1 inch to 7/16 inch for example.
The question is just what amount of step down is correct? Assuming I have a 1 to 1.5 inch tube for the feed what should the jet at the nozzel be?

You can look up Keene as well as other dredge folks and approximate the size from their photos as they will tell what size the intake nozzle is but for sure you want the water input pipe that creates the suction to be way smaller than the intake nozzle.

Good Luck............63bkpkr
