I went to three different banks to get a total of 28+ rolls of halfs.

I found no silver, 27 bicentennials, and 1 1987 S.

I am bummed that I didn't find anything very good, but it was fun and I think I will definately be buying more halfs in the near future!

Thanks to everyone that has posted tips and techniques for all of us newbies. I still have a lot to learn, so expect to hear many more questions from me ;D

Nice find on that '87 proof (yes, it was only issued in proof sets).

Unless you've found a '76s, don't bother saving any other bicentennial's; there were just too many minted.

I got hooked on this "Hobby" with just over $200 worth of halves. I'm just wondering how sick I am going to get. I have $200 more on order and I'm looking at breaking into the $1000 category soon if the bank will order them. We need to get a life people!

Thanks for the responses. It was cool finding the 87 proof, unfortunately it looks like it has been in circulation a while because it seems a bit scufffed up.

Welcome aboard Z. Congrats on that 87 proof!! Don't get bummed because you didn't find anything good like you mentioned, because you DID find a good one.

Keep plugging away and you will find silver....hit every bank you can and don't leave any stones unturned....lol

Good luck and be sure to post those finds.......with pictures! I love pictures.
