Last week I was digging to concrete a post in the ground and I found an old spoon, it was a cathedral silver plate CAD1. So from my research, early to mid 1900s.
So I decided to get a cheap detector to start with and I found a ton of tin foil lids, some hot rocks (I think), baby glass Bayer aspirin bottle, some other miscellaneous items, and an old quarter from 1935 that really made my day. I live in an older house, from early to mid 1900s, on the side of the main highway in GA. About 6 acres, the small town I live in was established in 1800.

Excited to see what my next hunt brings!

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Metallica1! Take a look at Forum: Georgia for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

We;cp,e tp TNet. metallica1.. I'm sure you'll like it here. I don't know that of your "hot rocks" are that. Can you show all sides of 1 or 2?

Well done of the silver quarter. Looks like you had to deal with the melted stuff as well. Possible it's where the ashes got thrown or a burn pit in the past.
1800 sounds very promising for the history. Best of luck

First off, welcome aboard the forum and to this awesome hobby! Secondly, finding a silver quarter on your first hunt is incredible, so Congrats on that feat! Lastly, your handle- I'll be 60 in 2 months and Metallica is still my favorite band of all-time- listen them every day (see my info).

A front and back of the rocks I found that do set off the metal detector. What do you guys think, just hot rocks? Obviously there’s a metal piece solidified on the top of that one. But the rest I have no clue..

Sounds like your doing pretty good keep em coming and if you keep finding good stuff you could ask your neighbors for permission to hunt their yards. Hope to see some more finds posted well done. There goes the yard LOL
