I just received a used F75 yesterday, and decided to give it a spin. I went to a local elementary school that is only about 30 years old. I figured it would give me a chance to learn a little about the machine without 100 years of junk to really confuse me. I did have my xterra70 in the car just in case, the F75 gets a bad rap for being noisy and hard to learn. I had done my homework though and thought I knew what to expect, I was wrong...
The F75 was much easier to use than expected, all the homework I did really helped. I have never used a fisher, or a DD coil that large. Pinpointing was initially a little bit of a puzzle. I hate digging plugs, and like to be able to pinpoint close enough to recover the target with my screwdriver. I quickly learned how to narrow the pinpoint mode to the point that I even hit a dime at 4 inches on the first probe. The silver ring was a nice bonus, it is sterling.
