Ey y'all
Here's the finds. I went to the 1948 house and got these.

The oldest one is 1920
Then I got this car wash token

And I also got my very first trade token which looks way too old for a 1948 house. It says "JD Brown" and "good for 5c in trade" . Any info?
Thanks

Cool finds! Keep digging! I bet that place has some long history to it! I would look into property records for sure.

A 8 Scallop token as a first trade token dug?
Killer!
You should be able to get this one identified, there are several people here at this site that will have some info for you.
And keep at, tokens are by far way more interesting to find then the average coin.
Kudos!

Go here TokenCatalog.com and search J.D. Brown there is one listed for Texas but has no picture.

Wheat,s work , and that's a very cool old Token.

462 - I don't see that the one listed is associated with Texas. TC-95433 is what you found, right? That is in the "unknown" column.

Wheat--would you be willing to post the picture of your token to TokenCatalog.com for the good of the hobby? Maybe that will help with the attribution. Thanks!

Ok just put a pic on the catalog site and I think bramblefind nailed it
This is just one guess - where there are probably a number of other individuals that could fit. There is a James D. Brown listed as a proprietor of a "variety store" in 1915 and a "grocer" in 1916 at 1901 Touro in the New Orleans City Directories for those years. Just throwing it out there in the possible event you found this token in the yard of 1901 Touro Street, New Orleans :laughing7:

Sorry, When I originally searched it I put in J D Brown without the periods and when you do that there are some from Texas that come up above it in the listing and I assumed it was grouped with them. I didn't notice that it didn't mention Texas when I did the search with periods. Nice find, I see that they have added yours as the example.

never dug scallop shaped token thought I got one not long ago but it was a dog tag.nice trade token and in great shape congrats.

if you go to token catalog.com and search Louisiana for 'Brown' you come up with several hits including this one from your area... "On 1901 Touro St., In New Orleans James D. Brown owned and operated a variety store in 1915 and a grocery in 1916. This token is from one of these two businesses" . they also need a pic, if you wish to submit one

Trade token is in great shape! Congrats!
