I have no experience with the F2 but have been reading this forum and the other one (FMDF) for a couple of months. The F2 is very popular but from what I have read, the bounty hunter is not a bad machine and you really won't be taking a big step up. You may want to just start learning with the BH, and save your money for the next level up of machines.. $400-$600 range. There is a learning curve regardless of the machine. If you do not have quality digging tools, find bag and pin pointer, the money would be better spent there than on a MD.
Put some hours on what you have, the machine is not going to find you the good stuff, the site and your ability to use the machine is what counts. BH, F2, ETrac will all find a coin at 4-6 inches which is where most of them live!
Hope that helps..
